three paths.

- An illusion hides a broom closet as a long hallway; Marlion’s sword reveals it.
- They find inactive crossbows of energy (+3 heavy crossbows dealing force damage), copper conduits, a scrying mirror, an empty infinite-food chest, and a magical latrine.
- Oscar in bear form fails to breach a barricaded door; Minfilia casts Legend Lore Level 5 · Divination10 minute · Self · InstantaneousV, S, M Name or describe a person, place, or object. The spell brings to your mind a brief summary of the significant lore about the thing you named. The lore might consist of current tales, forgotten stories, or even secret lore that has never been widely known. If the thing you named isn't of legendary importance, you gain no information. The more information you already have about the thing, the more precise and detailed the information you receive is. The information you learn is accurate but might be couched in figurative language. For example, if you have a mysterious magic axe on hand, the spell might yield this information: "Woe to the evildoer whose hand touches the axe, for even the haft slices the hand of the evil ones. Only a true Child of Stone, lover and beloved of Moradin, may awaken the true powers of the axe, and only with the sacred word Rudnogg on the lips." on the chest.
- Following conduits to the main power source, they find a collapsed cavern blocking access.
- Minfilia clears debris with Animate Objects Level 5 · Transmutation1 action · 120 ft. · 1 minuteV, S Objects come to life at your command. Choose up to ten nonmagical objects within range that are not being worn or carried. Medium targets count as two objects, Large targets count as four objects, Huge targets count as eight objects. You can't animate any object larger than Huge. Each target animates and becomes a creature under your control until the spell ends or until reduced to 0 hit points. As a bonus action, you can mentally command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 500 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same command to each one). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as to guard a particular chamber or corridor. If you issue no commands, the creature only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete. An animated object is a construct with AC, hit points, attacks, Strength, and Dexterity determined by its size. Its Constitution is 10 and its Intelligence and Wisdom are 3, and its Charisma is 1. It… and Stone Shape Level 4 · Transmutation1 action · Touch · InstantaneousV, S, M (soft clay, which must be worked into roughly the desired shape of the stone object) You touch a stone object of Medium size or smaller or a section of stone no more than 5 feet in any dimension and form it into any shape that suits your purpose. So, for example, you could shape a large rock into a weapon, idol, or coffer, or make a small passage through a wall, as long as the wall is less than 5 feet thick. You could also shape a stone door or its frame to seal the door shut. The object you create can have up to two hinges and a latch, but finer mechanical detail isn't possible. .
- Night hags attack near the crossbow gallery with undead babies.
- Minfilia wrests necromantic control of the babies from the hags.
- Oscar casts Stinking Cloud Level 3 · Conjuration1 action · 90 ft. · 1 minuteV, S, M (a rotten egg or several skunk cabbage leaves) You create a 20-foot-radius sphere of yellow, nauseating gas centered on a point within range. The cloud spreads around corners, and its area is Vision and Light. The cloud lingers in the air for the duration. Each creature that is completely within the cloud at the start of its turn must make a Constitution saving throw against poison. On a failed save, the creature spends its action that turn retching and reeling. Creatures that don't need to breathe or are immune to poison automatically succeed on this saving throw. A moderate wind (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses the cloud after 4 rounds. A strong wind (at least 20 miles per hour) disperses it after 1 round. ; Minfilia casts Insect Plague Level 5 · Conjuration1 action · 300 ft. · 10 minuteV, S, M (a few grains of sugar, some kernels of grain, and a smear of fat) Swarming, biting locusts fill a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range. The sphere spreads around corners. The sphere remains for the duration, and its area is Vision and Light. The sphere's area is difficult terrain. When the area appears, each creature in it must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 4d10 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature must also make this saving throw when it enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 4d10 for each slot level above 5th. .

- After resting, Minfilia casts Hallow Level 5 · Evocation24 hour · Touch · Until dispelledV, S, M You touch a point and infuse an area around it with holy (or unholy) power. The area can have a radius up to 60 feet, and the spell fails if the radius includes an area already under the effect a hallow spell. The affected area is subject to the following effects. First, celestials, elementals, fey, fiends, and undead can't enter the area, nor can such creatures charm, frighten, or possess creatures within it. Any creature charmed, frightened, or possessed by such a creature is no longer charmed, frightened, or possessed upon entering the area. You can exclude one or more of those types of creatures from this effect. Second, you can bind an extra effect to the area. Choose the effect from the following list, or choose an effect offered by the DM. Some of these effects apply to creatures in the area; you can designate whether the effect applies to all creatures, creatures that follow a specific deity or leader, or creatures of a specific sort, such as orcs or trolls. When a creature that would be affected enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it can make a Charisma saving throw. On a success, the creature ignores the extra effect until it le… on the keep’s main building, barring aberrations, hags, infernals, and undead unless allowed, with a courage effect so allied hags are not frightened.

- The third test is to get burly, highly-visible man, seduce him, and trick them magically into
stealing a key to a prison in the local constabulary office.
- The point is to test her ability to use magical manipulation to achieve her goals.
- The fourth test is to kill an urdefolcin and bring its heart to Germaine.
