Iris/Fai Vaikhari
Iris, also known as Fai Vaikhari, is a face stealer associated with the Revivalist Church of the Divine Masochist. She was trained as a spy and assassin by agents opposed to the Reformist Church of the Divine Masochist.
During the events around the Death of a God, Iris assumed the identity of Fai Vaikhari, a young Ansa connected to the Kolhan prince’s retinue. Accounts portray the assumed identity as unusually important to her, reshaping her outward manner into someone more cheerful, present, and friendly than the withdrawn agent she had been trained to become.
Iris later stole Yanara’s face and identity, but had too little time to fully learn the original woman’s habits. Her version of Yanara became more cheerful and assertive, resembling the person the original Yanara had wanted to become rather than an exact imitation.
