Uther Rannek
Uther Rannek is the Marquess of Rannek, husband of Maria Rannek, and father of Lance, Laudine, Gwyniviere, Merlin, and Angel Rannek. As Marquess, he represents House Rannek in the Seneran peerage and in the Seneran House of Lords.
Family
Section titled “Family”Uther is the head of the immediate Rannek household during the Vengeful affair. His wife Maria appeared at the Travertines as Marchioness of Rannek, while his daughter Gwyniviere Rannek is connected to the Malthreks through her betrothal to Mark Malthrek. His youngest daughter Angel became central to events involving the Emerald Shield of Spring, the Bishop of Rannek, and the Reformist threat around the Rannek Marches.
Vengeful Affair
Section titled “Vengeful Affair”During the Vengeful affair, Uther was away from the Travertine wedding because he was quelling a rebellion in the Rannek Delta. The rebels were members of Hickland for Hicks who were destroying flood-control structures in the Delta. The resulting floods threatened Maiden’s Fields and were expected to create wider food security problems in Senera if left unresolved.1
Angel sent a message to Uther after returning to Rannek with Lance Rannek, informing him that they were heading to the Bishop of Rannek and that she had passed important information to court wizards. Uther’s absence from the Travertines left Maria and Gwyniviere to represent the family at the Malthrek-Travertine wedding while the Rannek crisis remained active.1
