When you touch the doorknob of one door, you can expend spell slots to connect it to its paired door. When you open the touched door, it instantaneously opens the paired door. Any number of creatures can travel between the paired doors while the door remains open. Both doors close automatically if no creature travels between them for 5 seconds.
**Distance Cost.** The spell slot cost depends on the distance between the doors: one 1st-level spell slot per 200 feet, one 2nd-level spell slot per 1,000 feet, one 3rd-level spell slot per 1 mile, or one 4th-level spell slot for distances above 10 miles.

Section titled “Walburton Doorway”The Walburton Doorway is an example that connects the Turbiere de Hubar in Raibon Island with the Walburton Mansion in Hugo, about 1000 miles away. However, because there is a power source attached to it, the distance cost is only one 1st-level spell slot.
