Melki

Melki was a student of Gerta Moon’s Boarding School during the Gerta’s Home affair. The surviving records describe her less through magical office than through domestic tastes, especially cooking, salty food, and a collection of soy sauces brought to her through Sanerian merchants.

Melki was one of the older girls at the school. She hoped to travel widely, eat the foods of many regions, and eventually attend culinary school in Sanery. Gerta Moon appears to have encouraged this interest by obtaining unusual seasonings for her through commercial contacts.

Her family situation had become uncertain before the school fled Sanery. Melki’s parents stopped answering letters, and she was expected to stay with an aunt in Rainoso while the matter was investigated. Gerta suspected Reformist involvement and advised the aunt to contact authorities rather than accept the silence as ordinary neglect.

Melki was part of the group forced from Sanery after Reformists attempted to seize both the girls and the magical resources guarded by Gerta Moon and Atomina Russell. The planned relocation to Sentimental Island failed when the students’ vessel capsized in a storm, leading to their rescue by the Rozenmaiden. Her known schoolmates included Lime Schulze, Luana Victorique Dubreuil, Snow Skalla, Sigrid the Netweaver, Bianca Bentayga, and Fawn Plaisir.

After the Sentimental Island undead attacks, Melki was among the Gerta Moon students brought to the bog for the Parade of Spirits. She was considered as a possible Moon Witch candidate, but did not accept the role because she wanted to travel the world and become a chef. Later accounts place her with Andy Anderson during the same period and connect these events to the group’s displacement into the Feydark.
