Rannek Marches
The Rannek Marches are a rich agricultural region in the western-most end of Senera. It is famous for the massive flood control systems of weirs and dams that have been built over the centuries to keep tidal and seasonal flooding at bay. The reclaimed land is some of the most fertile in the entire island. It used to be the administrative center of the Kingdom of Senera after the collapse of the Kalassarian Empire, when the Maidenfelds held the Crown. The region has been reorganized as the Rannek Marches by the Dragonheart Dynasty after the War of Thyme and Fire.
History

Section titled “The Delta Flood-Control Project”Well after the War of Thyme and Fire, the Ranneks coordinated a large flood-control project in the delta. Some cadet branches of other noble houses helped finance sections of the works in exchange for titles and lands. This arrangement helped establish the concentration of Rannek vassal estates in the delta; Kepern is a notable exception to that geographic pattern.
The Maidenfelds already held Maiden’s Field before this project. They invested heavily in the works to protect their existing holdings and maritime interests, with access to Maiden’s Bay a condition of their participation. Their holdings were not newly created by the project’s grants to incoming cadet branches.
Geography

Section titled “Rannek Delta”The Rannek Delta is crossed by distributary channels, canals, drainage works, weirs, sluices, and embankments. Its roads commonly follow raised levees and the available bridges, ferries, and controlled crossings rather than direct lines. Maintained flood-control works can provide good carriage roads in ordinary conditions, while a damaged weir or lost crossing can impose long detours or halt carriage travel entirely.
Maiden’s Field
Section titled “Maiden’s Field”Maiden’s Field is a large managed agricultural territory measuring approximately 27 miles east to west and 27 miles north to south. It covers approximately 729 square miles and spans approximately 38 miles from corner to corner. Maiden’s Port lies immediately east of its northern lands.
The territory’s unusual extent reflects the Maidenfelds’ former royal position and continuing importance to the herb and spice trade. The name refers to a jurisdiction containing settlements, subordinate estates, wetlands, flood basins, and water-control infrastructure rather than to one uninterrupted private manor.
Rannek Karsts

Section titled “Direct Rannek Demesne”The direct demesne comprises lands held directly by House Rannek, distinct from the wider Marches under its jurisdiction and from Rannekford, the capital city. The Marches also contain subordinate lordships and Crown lands.
The smaller detached forest tract east of the main north–south river belongs to the direct Rannek demesne. The region’s broader woodlands are predominantly Crown lands, rather than part of the Rannek demesne or the estates of its vassals.
Houses and Their Lands
Section titled “Houses and Their Lands”A family’s name need not be the name of its demesne. This register keeps the houses, their ranks, and their territorial holdings distinct. A dash marks a detail not recorded here.
