Sigrid the Netweaver

Sigrid the Netweaver was a hexblood associated with Gerta Moon’s Boarding School, which began in Sanery and later attempted to relocate to Sentimental Island. She was connected to the Hags of Hama as the holder of the Spirit of the Spider, one of the protector spirits tied to the older White Witch traditions of Raibon.

Sigrid was known for weaving colorful nets and baskets. Accounts describe her as quiet, fragile, often ill, and somewhat clumsy, but also motherly, understanding, and inclined to leave small crafted gifts for her friends. She preferred knitting, sewing, and weaving old clothes to more public activity.

Sigrid was one of the girls connected to Gerta Moon’s Boarding School, alongside Lime Schulze, Luana Victorique Dubreuil, Snow Skalla, Bianca Bentayga, Melki, and Fawn Plaisir. In the school records, she was associated with the spider spirit, while other girls were connected to the spirits of the moon, rain, snake, and sea.

The school had been forced out of Sanery after Reformists attempted to seize both the students and the magical resources guarded by Gerta Moon and Atomina Russell. During the attempted move to Gerta’s new land on Sentimental Island, the students’ vessel capsized in a storm. The early Sentimental Island accounts describe Sigrid as a young woman found washed ashore afterward. A curse obscured her true identity, and after rescue she spoke little, continuing instead to weave nets and ropes. She identified Gerta Moon’s Boarding School as her place of origin, which helped draw later attention toward the school and its students.

Later Vengeful accounts state that Sigrid held the Spirit of the Spider and died knowingly after her rescue. She was remembered as wanting peace rather than further intervention. Her death left the status of the spider spirit and its future vessel as part of the unresolved legacy of Gerta Moon’s school and the revived Hags of Hama.
