Transmogrishroom
The Transmogrishroom is a strange magical fungus associated with unstable bodily transformation. Records from the Rozenmaiden crew’s expedition into Jing Shen Jiang connect one such mushroom to Andy Anderson’s transformation into a kobold.
Transmogrishroom
This strange mushroom carries unstable transformative magic. Its cap shifts through colors and silhouettes that suggest many thinking peoples at once.
**Consumable.** As an action, a creature can eat the entire mushroom. The creature immediately transforms into a random sapient creature chosen or rolled by the GM from peoples that exist in the setting. The new form is a physical transformation, not an illusion.
The transformed creature retains its memories, personality, alignment, class levels, hit points, proficiencies, and ability scores unless the GM decides the new anatomy makes a trait impossible to use. The creature gains the ordinary physical traits of the new kind, such as size, basic movement, natural appearance, and languages or senses the GM considers inherent to that body.
**Duration.** Roll d100 when the mushroom is eaten: on a 01-40, the transformation lasts 1d6 hours; on a 41-75, it lasts 1d6 days; on a 76-95, it lasts 1d6 months; on a 96-99, it lasts until ended by Remove Curse, Greater Restoration, Wish, or comparable magic; on a 100, the transformation is permanent and can be undone only by Wish or similarly powerful magic.
A creature transformed by a Transmogrishroom can be transformed by another Transmogrishroom, but the new result replaces the previous transformation rather than layering with it.
