Return to Castle Rannek
Section titled “Return to Castle Rannek”After his captivity under Crispin Mallow, Sandor arrived dishevelled during the court wizards’ siege of Castle Rannek and fought for the defenders. He saved Trajan by pushing his spellcasting beyond his capabilities, leaving himself unconscious from exhaustion. He was later recovering in his room, where Angel visited him with the transformed Crispin.
How Sandor escaped captivity and Mallow’s control remains unexplained, as do the details of his captivity and how Mallow acquired his copied face. His return does not establish that Angel’s breaking of Mallow’s fey deals and curses caused his escape.
