Angel’s group

- Angel meets with her mother after returning from Rannek and the Bishop of Rannek situation.
- Gwyniviere Rannek says her fiance, Mark Malthrek, is not present.
- Mark was called back to the Maltreks for unknown reasons.
- Angel is present in the hall after Crown Prince Marlion kills the Reformist spy watching Luke.
- Angel considers using zone of truth, but instead casts Speak with Dead Level 3 · Necromancy1 action · 10 ft. · 10 minuteV, S, M (burning incense) You grant the semblance of life and intelligence to a corpse of your choice within range, allowing it to answer the questions you pose. The corpse must still have a mouth and can't be undead. The spell fails if the corpse was the target of this spell within the last 10 days. Until the spell ends, you can ask the corpse up to five questions. The corpse knows only what it knew in life, including the languages it knew. Answers are usually brief, cryptic, or repetitive, and the corpse is under no compulsion to offer a truthful answer if you are hostile to it or it recognizes you as an enemy. This spell doesn't return the creature's soul to its body, only its animating spirit. Thus, the corpse can't learn new information, doesn't comprehend anything that has happened since it died, and can't speculate about future events. on the severed head.

Lime’s group
Section titled “Lime’s group”- Viscount Palladium Travertine, Lord of the Travertines
- Duchess Malthrek tells Lime that her supposed parents are Germaine and Adelaide Schulze.
- Lime is still passing as their daughter, Elizabeth Schulze.
- During the chaos around Crown Prince Marlion’s audience with Luke, Duchess Malthrek decides Lime should meet her “parents.”
- Lime goes with Duchess Malthrek to a chapel in the outer city, outside the walls of the
Travertines.
- They meet Germaine Schulze in the rectory.
- Germaine sprinkles a powder into a brazier-like device, opening a portal to a pocket dimension.
- Inside the pocket dimension are Adelaide Schulze and Father Charles Renaldi.
- Duchess Malthrek identifies Adelaide as Lime’s supposed mother.
- Father Charles Renaldi calls Adelaide a high-ranking local Reformist, possibly a bearer of the whip.
- Lime convinces Germaine and Adelaide to pretend that she is their daughter, even though they know
she is not.
- They recognize that she is a Schulze relative.
- The Reformists discuss recent failures and the shards of the Emerald Shield of Spring.
- Angel has two of the seven shards.
- The Reformists can sense the shards, but cannot reliably locate them.
- Lime persuades them to let Angel collect more shards so they can ambush her later.
- Lime is told she may have to take a test of devotion.
- She may be offered the position of Candle Bearer in the local Reformist hierarchy.
Tiphanie
Section titled “Tiphanie”- The Crown Prince is staying at the Royal Suites at the Grand Waterfall Inn.
- Casts an alarm Alarm Level 1 · Abjuration1 minute · 30 ft. · 8 hourV, S, M (a tiny bell and a piece of fine silver wire) You set an alarm against unwanted intrusion. Choose a door, a window, or an area within range that is no larger than a 20-foot cube. Until the spell ends, an alarm alerts you whenever a Tiny or larger creature touches or enters the warded area. When you cast the spell, you can designate creatures that won't set off the alarm. You also choose whether the alarm is mental or audible. A mental alarm alerts you with a ping in your mind if you are within 1 mile of the warded area. This ping awakens you if you are sleeping. An audible alarm produces the sound of a hand bell for 10 seconds within 60 feet. in the Crown Prince’s apartments.

- Marlion told her his true name, Steinar, instead of the name chosen for him by his father.

- The token is meant to let her keep tabs on Luke and peer into his mind.
- Tiphanie accompanies Marlion under the guise of being one of his court wizards.
- She is presented as the only court wizard sent by his father to follow him.
- Marlion arrives at Travertine Keep with pomp, and the nobles present pay homage to him.
- Marlion uses the wedding-boon pretext to speak directly with Luke Malthrek.
- Tiphanie probes Luke’s mind.
- Luke has not become a Reformist yet, but he is being groomed toward Reformist beliefs.

- Marlion drags the dead Reformist’s head and body outside and orders the servants present to
witness the crime committed against the Crown.
- This buys Tiphanie more time alone with Luke.

You arrive at exactly the spot desired. You can also bring one willing creature of your size or smaller who is carrying gear up to its carrying capacity. The creature must be within 5 feet of you when you cast this spell. If you would arrive in a place already occupied by an object or a creature, you and any creature traveling with you each take 4d6 force damage, and the spell fails to teleport you. to
