Malvius II Maidenfeld
Malvius II Maidenfeld, Baron Maidenfeld, is the lord of Maiden’s Field, the Maidenfeld family’s territory in the Rannek Delta. He directs the barony’s response to the revolt and the attacks threatening its people, floodworks, and spice trade. Tristan Maidenfeld works directly with him.
Family
Section titled “Family”His late wife served as Master of the Fleet for the Maidenfeld Spice Company before Steven Maidenfeld. The Baron reported that she was implanted with a parasite during company business at sea and that he killed her. He believed the parasite had replaced her; this does not establish that she was beyond healing.
Helena Cooper, a local Hicklander leader, is his illegitimate daughter, born of an affair with her mother.
Defense of Maiden’s Field
Section titled “Defense of Maiden’s Field”During the crisis, the Baron presided over a guarded situation room attended by local nobles. Robert Maidenfeld and Steven Maidenfeld brought Rannek allies into that council as they sought to rescue Marquess Uther and oppose Crispin Mallow.
The Baron asserted that the protections associated with the Emerald Shield of Spring should restrict aberrations. That assertion did not establish their effectiveness against Mallow’s forces, nor did it imply that members of the Reformist Church were magically barred merely by their allegiance.
